SIM Austin Chapter Newsletter January 2018

Setting a Path for 2018!

The SIM Austin Executive Committee met recently for the first Board meeting of 2018  and shared in their excitement over the path they are setting with programs and fun events for 2018.

2018 SIM Austin Programs

As SIM Austin grows, we are continuing to look for ways to add value for our Members and Friends of SIM.  Our Chapter sponsors regular programs to network, hosts social and philanthropic events to enhance the community, and acts as a forum for business and technology leaders to partner with peers.  Benefits of your current paid membership include entry to all SIM monthly meetings plus the opportunity to introduce prospective members at no charge. Please register your guests through the Eventbrite invitation, and they will be included at no cost.

We welcome Friends of SIM to join us and participate in events and would encourage you to consider joining SIM to take full advantage of our programs (i.e., CIO Roundtable Breakfasts, SIM Lunch Events, InnoTech discounts, access to regional and national SIM events and programs, and more.).  This year we are introducing a fee of $25.00 to attend SIM’s monthly meetings for Friends of SIM to ensure we can continue to provide the strong base of programs, speakers and networking opportunities for everyone.  To learn more about becoming a member go to https://austinsim.org/membership/.

January Austin SIM Meeting:  Gartner Annual IT Trends Report

A special thank you to our January event sponsor, Calavista (http://www.calavista.com/).

RLF – “Leadership for Life” (a leadership program of SIM)

Do you want to improve your company’s future by investing in your high-potential performers? Do you believe in developing and growing our Next Generation of IT Leaders?

The facilitators of SIM’s signature RLF program are famous for delivering leadership development differently.  More than 4,000 rising business and IT professionals from top U.S. and global companies have experienced the RLF program with life-changing and career-enhancing results.

Here’s a snapshot from an endorsement written by a former RLF graduate that captures the ‘heart’ of the program::

“Leadership is not a position, it is a skill.  This became clear to me after my experience attending the Regional Leadership Forum several years ago.  Unlike the expected messaging received from the usual leadership training programs we’ve all attended throughout our careers, my experience in RLF was a consciousness-raising experience.  The program has existed for decades and is rich in history. More importantly, the round table that sets the curriculum and the program facilitators are also rich in experience.  I would call them leadership legends. The structure of the course is a guided journey into the essence of true leadership.”  (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/leadership-position-skill-adriana-callerio/).

To learn more about the program, please feel free to visit the 2018 RLF website or contact RLF Facilitator Karen Calvert anytime @ kcalvert@austinsim.org.
